Meet the Principals

Dr. Thomas Devitt, Principal

Dr. Thomas Devitt brings more than a decade of educational experience as the Principal of Conway Elementary. That experience includes teaching English Language Arts (ELA) as a middle school teacher, supporting other teachers' growth and development as an Academic Instructional Coach, and most recently, five years as an elementary school principal. 

Dr. Devitt has earned Bachelor of Arts and Science degrees in Secondary Education and English Literature from Saint Louis University, a Master of Educational Leadership degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University. He is a natural leader with an ability to get the most out of students and peers. In his previous roles, he was named District Teacher of the Year and, as a building principal, helped his district earn its highest-ever Annual Performance Report, a school report card. Dr. Devitt is a great addition to the Conway Elementary School community.

Dr. Thomas Hadfield, Assistant Principal

Dr. Thomas Hadfield has spent 19 of 22 years in education with Ladue Schools and will use that experience to continue the excellence at Conway Elementary as the assistant principal. He has received multiple recognitions in the district, including a 2023 Excellence in Education Award and a Top Teacher Award in 2010.

Dr. Hadfield earned his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Additionally, he recently earned his Doctor of Education degree at Saint Louis University. With his extensive training in building leadership, character education, curriculum and instruction, restorative practices, and school safety, Dr. Hadfield will be an excellent addition to the Conway School community.
